English translation

1000. Zuhair narrated Al-Aʿmash from Al-Musayyab bin Rāfiʿ, from Tamīm Aṭ-Ṭāʿī, from Jābir bin Samurah, who said: "The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ entered upon us while the people were raising their hands" — Zuhair said: "I think he mentioned that this was during the prayer." — "so he (the Prophet ﷺ) said: 'Why do I see you raising your hands as if they are tails of agitated horses? Be peaceful in your prayer.'" (Sahih)

1000 - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ النُّفَيْلِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ، عَنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ بْنِ رَافِعٍ، عَنْ تَمِيمٍ الطَّائِيِّ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ، قَالَ: دَخَلَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَالنَّاسُ رَافِعُوا أَيْدِيهِمْ - قَالَ زُهَيْرٌ: أُرَاهُ قَالَ - فِي الصَّلَاةِ، فَقَالَ: «مَا لِي أَرَاكُمْ رَافِعِي أَيْدِيكُمْ كَأَنَّهَا أَذْنَابُ خَيْلٍ شُمْسٍ؟ أُسْكُنُوا فِي الصَّلَاةِ»
