English translation

1116. Al-A'mash reported from Abū Sufyān from Jābir, and, from Abū Ṣāliḥ from Abū Hurairah, they both (Jābir and Abū Hurairah) said: "Sulaik Al-Ghaṭafānī came while the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ was delivering the Khutbah, so he said to him: 'Have you prayed anything?' He replied: 'No.' So he said: 'Pray two Rak'ahs, and make them short.'" (Saḥīh)
