Text and translation

English translation

1130. It was reported from 'Āṭā', that if Ibn 'Umar prayed the Friday prayer in Makkah, he would move forward and pray two Rak'ahs, then move forward and pray four Rak'ahs. And if he prayed in Al-Madīnah, he would pray the Friday prayer, then return to his house and pray two Rak'ahs, and he would not pray (that) in the Masjid. When he was asked regarding this, he said: "This is what the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ used to do." (Sahīh)

1130 - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ أَبِي رِزْمَةَ الْمَرْوَزِيُّ، أَخْبَرَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ مُوسَى، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ: كَانَ إِذَا كَانَ بِمَكَّةَ فَصَلَّى الْجُمُعَةَ، تَقَدَّمَ فَصَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ، ثُمَّ تَقَدَّمَ فَصَلَّى أَرْبَعًا، وَإِذَا كَانَ بِالْمَدِينَةِ صَلَّى الْجُمُعَةَ، ثُمَّ رَجَعَ إِلَى بَيْتِهِ فَصَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ، وَلَمْ يُصَلِّ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ، فَقِيلَ لَهُ، فَقَالَ: «كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ»
