English translation

1185. Qabiṣah Al-Hilālī narrated: "There was a solar eclipse during the lifetime of the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ, so he went out in a state of anxiety; his garment was trailing behind him. I was with him at that time in Al-Madinah. He prayed two Rak'ahs, and lengthened the standing. Then he completed (the prayer) while (the sun) had appeared, and said: 'These are signs by which Allāh, the Mighty and Sublime, causes (people) to fear Him. So when you see it, then pray as if you are praying a new obligatory prayer.'" (Da'if)
