English translation

1211. Ḥabīb bin Abī Thābit reported Sa'eed bin Jubair, from Ibn 'Abbās, that he said: "The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ once combined between Zuhr and ʾAṣr, and between Maghrib and 'Ishā' while we were in Al-Madinah, without any (cause for) fear, nor (due to) rain.” (Saḥīh) Ibn ‘Abbās was asked: “Why did he do that?” He replied: “He wished not to inconvenience his nation.”
