1328. It was reported from Abū Khālid Al-Wālībī, from Abū Hurairah, that he said: “The Prophet ﷺ would occasionally raise his voice, and occasionally lower it during his recitation at night.” (Hasan) Abū Dāwūd said: Abū Khālid Al-Wālībī's name is Hurmuz.
1328 - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكَّارِ بْنِ الرَّيَّانِ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ زَائِدَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي خَالِدٍ الْوَالِبِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ: «كَانَتْ قِرَاءَةُ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِاللَّيْلِ يَرْفَعُ طَوْرًا، وَيَخْفِضُ طَوْرًا»، قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ: «أَبُو خَالِدٍ الْوَالِبِيُّ اسْمُهُ هُرْمُزُ»
