1370. ‘Alqamah said: “I asked ‘Aishah: ‘How were the deeds of the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ? Did he used to set aside some days (for extra worship)?” She said: ‘No, for all his actions were constant (and habitual). And who among you is capable of what the Messenger of Allah ﷺ is capable of?" (Sahih)
1370 - حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ، قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ عَائِشَةَ، كَيْفَ كَانَ عَمَلُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ؟ هَلْ كَانَ يَخُصُّ شَيْئًا مِنَ الْأَيَّامِ؟ قَالَتْ: «لَا، كَانَ كُلُّ عَمَلِهِ دِيمَةً، وَأَيُّكُمْ يَسْتَطِيعُ مَا كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَسْتَطِيعُ»

Doing a devotional act of worship persistently and abidingly is the real worship. Obviously, it is not possible unless it is done with moderation, shunning both laxity and excess.
