1514. It was reported from a freed slave of Abū Bakr Aṣ-Ṣiddīq, from Abū Bakr Aṣ-Ṣiddīq, may Allāh be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: “The one who seeks forgiveness is not (regarded) as one who habitually performs (a sin), even if he returns (to the sin) seventy times in a day.” (Hasan)
1514 - حَدَّثَنَا النُّفَيْلِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا مَخْلَدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ، حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ وَاقِدٍ الْعُمَرِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِي نُصَيْرَةَ، عَنْ مَوْلًى لِأَبِي بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقِ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقِ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَا أَصَرَّ مَنِ اسْتَغْفَرَ، وَإِنْ عَادَ فِي الْيَوْمِ سَبْعِينَ مَرَّةٍ»
