1854. It was reported from Abū Al-Muhazzim, from Abū Hurairah, who said: "We captured a horde of locusts. A person among us who was in the state of Ihram started hitting them with his whip, but he was told that this was not permitted. This was then mentioned to the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ who said: 'It is only (like) game of the ocean.”) (Da'if) I heard[1] Abū Dāwūd saying: “Abū Al-Muhazzim is weak, and both of the Aḥādīth are a mistake.
1854 - حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ، عَنْ حَبِيبٍ الْمُعَلِّمِ، عَنْ أَبِي الْمُهَزِّمِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: أَصَبْنَا صِرْمًا مِنْ جَرَادٍ فَكَانَ رَجُلٌ مِنَّا يَضْرِبُ بِسَوْطِهِ وَهُوَ مُحْرِمٌ، فَقِيلَ لَهُ: هَذَا لَا يَصْلُحُ فَذُكِرَ ذَلِكَ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ: «إِنَّمَا هُوَ مِنْ صَيْدِ الْبَحْرِ». سَمِعْت أَبَا دَاوُد يَقُولُ: أَبُو الْمُهَزِّمِ ضَعِيفٌ وَالْحَدِيثَانِ جَمِيعًا وَهْمٌ
