English translation
2093. (Another chain) from Yazīd, meaning Ibn Zuraī; (another chain) from Ḥammād with the same meaning, that Muḥammad bin ‘Amr narrated, that Abū Salamah narrated to them from Abū Hurairah, that the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: “An orphaned girl is asked regarding herself, so if she remains silent, then that is her permission. And if she refuses, then there is no means (of forcing) her.” The (wording of the) narration is that of Yazīd. (Hasan) Abū Dāwud said: It was also reported like that by Abū Khālid Sulaimān Ibn Hayyān, and Mu‘ādh bin Mu‘ādh, from Muḥammad bin ‘Amr.
