English translation

210. Sahl bin Hunaif reported: "I used to suffer severely from preseminal fluid, and I used to perform Ghusl frequently because of it. So I asked the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ about that, and he said: 'It is sufficient for you to perform Wudu'.' I said: 'O Messenger of Allāh! How about what touches my clothes of it?' He said: 'It is sufficient that you take a fistful of water and splash it wherever you think it touched your clothes.'" (Hasan)

210 - حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، حَدَّثَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ السَّبَّاقِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ حُنَيْفٍ، قَالَ: كُنْتُ أَلْقَى مِنَ المَذْيِ شِدَّةً، وَكُنْتُ أُكْثِرُ مِنَ الِاغْتِسَالِ، فَسَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ ذَلِكَ، فَقَالَ: «إِنَّمَا يُجْزِيكَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ الْوُضُوءُ»، قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، فَكَيْفَ بِمَا يُصِيبُ ثَوْبِي مِنْهُ؟ قَالَ: «يَكْفِيكَ بِأَنْ تَأْخُذَ كَفًّا مِنْ مَاءٍ، فَتَنْضَحَ بِهَا مِنْ ثَوْبِكَ، حَيْثُ تَرَى أَنَّهُ أَصَابَهُ»
