2120. Ismā'il bin Ibrāhīm narrated: “I proposed to the Prophet ﷺ for (the hand of) Umāmah bint 'Abdul-Muṭṭalib, and he married me to her without delivering any sermon.” (Da'if) (Abū 'Eisā said to us: “It has reached us that Abū Dāwud was asked: 'Is this allowed?' To which he replied: 'Yes, and there are a number of Aḥādīth from the Prophet ﷺ about this.”)
2120 - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا بَدَلُ بْنُ الْمُحَبَّرِ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ ابْنَ أَخِي شُعَيْبٍ الرَّازِيِّ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ، مِنْ بَنِي سُلَيْمٍ، قَالَ: «خَطَبْتُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أُمَامَةَ بِنْتَ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ فَأَنْكَحَنِي مِنْ غَيْرِ أَنْ يَتَشَهَّدَ»
