2125. It was reported from Ayyūb, from ‘Ikrimah, from Ibn ‘Abbās, who said: “When ‘Alī married Fāṭimah, the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: ‘Give her something.’ He replied: ‘I don’t have anything!’ He said: ‘Where is your Ḥuṭamī coat of mail?’”[1] (Sahīh)
2125 - حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ الطَّالَقَانِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ: لَمَّا تَزَوَّجَ عَلِيٌّ فَاطِمَةَ قَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «أَعْطِهَا شَيْئًا»، قَالَ: مَا عِنْدِي شَيْءٌ، قَالَ: «أَيْنَ دِرْعُكَ الْحُطَمِيَّةُ؟»
