English translation

2345. Abū Hurairah reported that the Prophet ﷺ said: "Dates are a preferred Sahūr for the believer." (Sahīh)

Arabic text

2345 - حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي الْوَزِيرِ أَبُو الْمُطَرِّفِ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُوسَى، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «نِعْمَ سَحُورُ الْمُؤْمِنِ التَّمْرُ»

Commentary

The date-palm is through and through a blessed tree, and it is desirable to make it a part of our menu for Suhūr and Iftār.
