Text and translation

English translation

2381. It was narrated from Ma'dān bin Talhah that Abū Ad-Dardā' narrated to him: "The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ vomited, and broke his fast." I met Thawbān, the freed slave of the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ in a Masjid in Damascus, and said to him: "Abū Ad-Dardā' narrated to me: 'The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ vomited and broke his fast.'" He said: "He spoke the truth, and I poured water for him for his Wudū'." (Hasan)

Commentary

There is no doubt that, unlike involuntary or sudden vomiting, deliberate vomiting will break the fast, and that day must be made up.
