Text and translation

English translation

2416. It was reported from Abū 'Ubaid, who said: "I attended the 'Eid with 'Umar. He began with the Ṣalāt before the sermon, and then said: 'The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ prohibited us from fasting on these two days. As for the Day of Al-Adhā, then it is when you eat the meat of your sacrificed animals, and as for the Day of Al-Fitr it is the breaking of your fast.'"(Ṣaḥīh)
