English translation

2423. It was reported from Ibn Wahb who said: "I heard Al-Laith saying: 'Whenever it was mentioned to Ibn Shihāb that it is prohibited to fast on Saturday, he would say: "This is a Himṣī Hadīth." (Saḥīh)"

2423 - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ اللَّيْثَ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ إِذَا ذَكَرَ لَهُ أَنَّهُ «نَهَى عَنْ صِيَامِ يَوْمِ السَّبْتِ» يَقُولُ ابْنُ شِهَابٍ: هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حِمْصِيٌّ،
