English translation

2605. It was reported from Ka'b bin Mālik, who said: “It was rare that the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ would set out to travel any day other than Thursday.” (Sahih)

Arabic text

2605 - حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ: «قَلَّمَا كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَخْرُجُ فِي سَفَرٍ إِلَّا يَوْمَ الْخَمِيسِ»

Commentary

All the days are the days of Allāh. Still Thursday has a special significance inasmuch as it is on this day of the week that the deeds of men are presented before Allāh. (See no. 2571).
