2807. It was reported from 'Abdul-Malik, from 'Aṭā', from Jābir bin 'Abdullāh who said: "We used to perform Tamatta'u during the lifetime of the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ; we would sacrifice a cow on behalf of seven people, and share it." (Saḥih)
2807 - حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَنْبَلٍ، حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ: «كُنَّا نَتَمَتَّعُ فِي عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَذْبَحُ الْبَقَرَةَ عَنْ سَبْعَةٍ، وَالْجَزُورَ عَنْ سَبْعَةٍ نَشْتَرِكُ فِيهَا»
