English translation

2919. It was reported from Ibn ʿUmar, may Allāh be pleased with him, that he said: "The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ prohibited selling the Walāʾ and giving it as a gift." (Saḥih)

Arabic text

2919 - حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا، قَالَ: «نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ بَيْعِ الْوَلَاءِ، وَعَنْ هِبَتِهِ»
