English translation
2940. It was reported from Ibn 'Umar who said: "We used to pledge allegiance to the Prophet ﷺ to hear and to obey, and he used to tell us: 'In what you people are able to.'" (Sahih)

2940 - حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ: «كُنَّا نُبَايِعُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى السَّمْعِ وَالطَّاعَةِ وَيُلَقِّنُنَا فِيمَا اسْتَطَعْتَ»
