English translation

2969. It was reported from 'Urwah bin Zubair, that 'Aishah, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ, informed him of this Hadith. He said: "Fāṭimah was seeking the Sadaqah (charity) of the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ which was in Al-Madīnah, Fadak and whatever remained of the Khumus of Khaibar. 'Aishah said: 'Abū Bakr replied: "The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: 'We do not have heirs, whatever we leave is Sadaqah (charity). The family of Muḥammad shall only eat from this property.' That is from the property of Allāh. They are not entitled to more than their provision." (Ṣaḥīh)

2969 - حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عُثْمَانَ الْحِمْصِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، حَدَّثَنَا شُعَيْبُ بْنُ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، حَدَّثَنِي عُرْوَةُ بْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ: أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ زَوْجَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، أَخْبَرَتْهُ بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ، قَالَ: وَفَاطِمَةُ عَلَيْهَا السَّلَام حِينَئِذٍ تَطْلُبُ صَدَقَةَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الَّتِي بِالْمَدِينَةِ، وَفَدَكَ، وَمَا بَقِيَ مِنْ خُمُسِ خَيْبَرَ، قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا: فَقَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ: إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «لَا نُورَثُ مَا تَرَكْنَا صَدَقَةٌ، وَإِنَّمَا يَأْكُلُ آلُ مُحَمَّدٍ فِي هَذَا الْمَالِ» يَعْنِي مَالَ اللَّهِ لَيْسَ لَهُمْ أَنْ يَزِيدُوا عَلَى الْمَأْكَلِ،
