Text and translation

English translation

3049. It was narrated from Harb bin 'Ubaidullāh bin 'Umair Ath-Thaqafī, that his grandfather — a man of Banū Taghlib — said: "I came to the Prophet ﷺ and accepted Islam, and he taught me Islam, and taught me how to collect the Sadaqah (Zakāt) from my people who accept Islam. Then I came back to him, and said: 'O Messenger of Allāh, everything you taught me I have remembered except the Ṣadaqah. Should I levy the Ushūr on them?' He said: 'No; the Ushūr is only to be levied on the Jews and Christians.'" (Da'if)
