3112. It was narrated that Abū Hurairah said: "Banū Al-Hārīth bin 'Āmir bin Nawfal bought Khubaib, and Khubaib was the one who had killed Al-Hārīth bin 'Āmir on the Day of Badr. Khubaib stayed with them as a prisoner, until they decided to kill him. He asked to borrow a razor from the daughter of Al-Hārīth with which to shave his pubes, and she lent it to him. A small child of hers crawled away when she was not looking and went to him, and she found him alone with the child on his lap, and the razor in his hand. She panicked and he noticed that, and said: 'Are you afraid that I will kill him? I would not do that.'" (Saḥīḥ) Abū Dāwūd said: This story was narrated by Shu'āib bin Abī Ḥamzah from Az-Zuhrī who said: "Ubaidullāh bin 'Iyāḍ informed me that the daughter of Al-Hārīth informed him that when they agreed to kill him, he asked to borrow a razor from her, with which to shave his pubes, and she lent it to him."
