English translation

3220. It was narrated that Al-Qāsim said: “I entered upon ‘Aīshah and said: ‘O mother, show me the grave of the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ, and his two Companions, may Allāh be pleased with them.’ She showed me three graves which were neither high nor low, covered with soft red pebbles in an open space.” (Hasan) Abū ‘Alī (Al-Lu’lu’ī) said: “It was said that the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ was in front, with Abū Bakr by his head and ‘Umar by his feet, and his head was by the feet of the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ.”

3220 - حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي فُدَيْكٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ هَانِئٍ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ، قَالَ: دَخَلَتْ عَلَى عَائِشَةَ، فَقُلْتُ: يَا أُمَّهِ اكْشِفِي لِي عَنْ قَبْرِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَصَاحِبَيْهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا، «فَكَشَفَتْ لِي عَنْ ثَلَاثَةِ قُبُورٍ لَا مُشْرِفَةٍ، وَلَا لَاطِئَةٍ مَبْطُوحَةٍ بِبَطْحَاءِ الْعَرْصَةِ الْحَمْرَاءِ» قَالَ أَبُو عَلِيٍّ: يُقَالُ: إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُقَدَّمٌ وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ عِنْدَ رَأْسِهِ، وَعُمَرُ عِنْدَ رِجْلَيْهِ، رَأْسُهُ عِنْدَ رِجْلَيْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ
