3233. It was narrated that Abū Hurairah said: "A funeral passed by the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ and they spoke well (of the deceased). He said: '(Paradise is) guaranteed for him.' Then another funeral passed by and they spoke ill (of the deceased). He said: '(Hell is) guaranteed for him.' Then he said: "Some of you are witnesses over others." (Hasan)
3233 - حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ، عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: مَرُّوا عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِجَنَازَةٍ فَأَثْنَوْا عَلَيْهَا خَيْرًا، فَقَالَ: «وَجَبَتْ» ثُمَّ مَرُّوا بِأُخْرَى فَأَثْنَوْا عَلَيْهَا شَرًّا، فَقَالَ: «وَجَبَتْ» ثُمَّ قَالَ: «إِنَّ بَعْضَكُمْ عَلَى بَعْضٍ شُهَدَاءُ»
