Text and translation

English translation

3300. It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbās said: "While the Prophet ﷺ was delivering a Khutbah, he saw a man standing in the sun. He asked about him, and they said: 'This is Abū Isrā'īl; he has vowed to stand and not sit, nor seek shade nor speak, and to fast.' He said: 'Tell him to speak, seek shade and sit down, and let him complete his fast.'" (Sahih)
