Text and translation

English translation

3310. It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbās that a woman came to the Prophet ﷺ and said that her mother had owed a month's fast, should she fast it on her behalf? He said: "If your mother owed a debt would you pay it off?" She said: "Yes." He said: "The debt of Allāh is more deserving of being paid off.”[1] (Sahih)
