English translation

3439. It was narrated from Tāwūs, from Ibn 'Abbās, who said: "The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ forbade a town-dweller to sell for a Bedouin." I (Tāwūs) said: "What does a town-dweller selling for a Bedouin mean?" He said: "Acting as a broker for him." (Sahih)

3439 - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ ثَوْرٍ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ طَاوُسٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ: «نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يَبِيعَ حَاضِرٌ لِبَادٍ» فَقُلْتُ: مَا يَبِيعُ حَاضِرٌ لِبَادٍ؟ قَالَ: «لَا يَكُونُ لَهُ سِمْسَارًا»
