Text and translation

English translation

3918. It was narrated from Ibn Juraij, from 'Aṭā', he said: "People say that Šafar is a pain in the belly." I said: "What is Al-Hāmah?" He said: "People say that the Hāmah that shrieks is the spirit of a man, but it is not the spirit of a man, rather it is a creature." (Šahīh) [1] It is as if the meaning is, "your good omen."
