English translation

4196. It was narrated that Anas bin Mālik said: "I had a lock of hair and my mother said: 'I shall not cut it; the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ used to stretch it out and play with it.'" (Da'if)

Arabic text

4196 - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ، حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ، عَنْ مَيْمُونِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ الْبُنَانِيِّ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ: كَانَتْ لِي ذُؤَابَةٌ، فَقَالَتْ لِي أُمِّي: لَا أَجُزُّهَا، «كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَمُدُّهَا، وَيَأْخُذُ بِهَا»
