English translation
420. 'Abdullāh bin 'Umar narrated: "One night, we waited for the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ to come out for the 'Ishā' prayer. He came out after a third of the night had passed, or after that. We did not know whether this (delay) was due to a matter that had kept him busy, or other than that. He said when he came out: 'Are you waiting for the prayer? Were it not for the fact that it would be a burden on my nation, I would have led them in prayer at this time.' Then he ordered the Mu'adhhdhin to call the Iqāmah for the prayer." (Sahīh)
