Text and translation

English translation

4259. It was narrated that Abū Mūsā Al-Ash’arī said: “The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: 'Ahead of the Hour there will be tribulations like parts of dark night, in which a man will be a believer in the morning and a disbeliever in the evening, or he will be a believer in the evening and a disbeliever in the morning. The one who is sitting during (that Fitnah) will be better than the one who is standing, and the one who is walking during it will be better than the one who is running. Break your bows, cut your bowstrings and strike your swords on stones. If anyone enters upon any one of you, then let him be like the better of the two sons of Ādam.'" (Hasan)
