English translation

4424. Shu'bah said: "I asked Simāk about the word Al-Kuthbah (mentioned in Hadith no. 4422) and he said it meant a small amount of milk." (Hasan)

Arabic text

4424 - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْغَنِيِّ بْنُ أَبِي عَقِيلٍ الْمِصْرِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، قَالَ: قَالَ شُعْبَةُ، فَسَأَلْتُ سِمَاكًا عَنِ الكُثْبَةِ، فَقَالَ: «اللَّبَنُ الْقَلِيلُ»
