Text and translation

English translation

4624. It was narrated from Hammād bin Zaid, from Ibn 'Awn, who said: "If the words of Al-Ḥasan could be interpreted in the way that others have interpreted them, we would have written to him asking him to recant and brought witnesses to that effect, but we think that what he said cannot be interpreted in that way." (Hasan)
