Text and translation

English translation

471. It was reported from Abū Nāfi', from Abū Hurairah that the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: "One of you is counted as being in prayer as long as he is in his prayer place, waiting for the prayer (to start). The angels say: 'O Allāh! Forgive him. O Allāh! Have mercy on him,' until he leaves or commits Hadath." It was asked (of Abū Hurairah): "What is the meaning of 'commits Hadath?' He replied: "To pass wind silently or with a noise." (Saḥīḥ)
