English translation

475. It was reported from Abū 'Awānah, from Qatādah, from Anas bin Mālik, who said that the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: "Spitting in the Masjid is a sin, and its expiation it to bury it." (Sahīh)

Arabic text

475 - حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «الْبُزَاقُ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ خَطِيئَةٌ وَكَفَّارَتُهَا دَفْنُهَا»،
