English translation

4799. It was narrated from 'Aṭā' Al-Kaikhārānī, from Umm Ad-Dardā' from Abū Ad-Dardā', may Allāh be pleased with him, that the Prophet ﷺ said: "There is nothing that weighs more heavily in the Balance than good character." Abū Al-Walid (one of the narrators) said: "I heard 'Aṭā' Al-Kaikhārānī." (Saḥīḥ) Abū Dāwūd said: He is 'Aṭā' bin Ya'qūb, and he is the maternal uncle of Ibrāhīm bin Nāfī'. It is pronounced: "Kaikhārānī" and "Kawkhārānī."

4799 - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ، وَحَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا ح وحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ كَثِيرٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ أَبِي بَزَّةَ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ الْكَيْخَارَانِيِّ، عَنْ أُمِّ الدَّرْدَاءِ، عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «مَا مِنْ شَيْءٍ أَثْقَلُ فِي الْمِيزَانِ مِنْ حُسْنِ الْخُلُقِ» قَالَ: أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَطَاءً الْكَيْخَارَانِيَّ، قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ: " وَهُوَ عَطَاءُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ وَهُوَ خَالُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ نَافِعٍ يُقَالُ: كَيْخَارَانِيٌّ وَكَوْخَارَانِيٌّ "
