4832. It was narrated from Al-Walīd bin Qais, from Abū Sa'eed - or from Abū Al-Haitham, from Abū Sa'eed, may Allāh be pleased with him, that the Prophet ﷺ said: “Do not accompany except a believer, and do not let anyone eat your food but one of Taqwā.” (Sahih)
4832 - حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَوْنٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، عَنْ حَيْوَةَ بْنِ شُرَيْحٍ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ غَيْلَانَ، عَنِ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ، أَوْ عَنْ أَبِي الْهَيْثَمِ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: «لَا تُصَاحِبْ إِلَّا مُؤْمِنًا، وَلَا يَأْكُلْ طَعَامَكَ إِلَّا تَقِيٌّ»

Man is known by the company he keeps. Therefore, one should adopt the company of pious and virtuous people, and avoid the company of bad mannered people.
