English translation

4840. It was narrated that Abū Hurairah said: "The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: 'Every speech that does not start with praise of Allāh is defective.'" (Da'if)

Arabic text

4840 - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو تَوْبَةَ، قَالَ: زَعَمَ الْوَلِيدُ، عَنِ الْأَوْزَاعِيِّ، عَنْ قُرَّةَ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «كُلُّ كَلَامٍ لَا يُبْدَأُ فِيهِ بِالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ فَهُوَ أَجْذَمُ» قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ: رَوَاهُ يُونُسُ، وَعَقِيلٌ، وَشُعَيْبٌ، وَسَعِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُرْسَلًا
