English translation

4877. It was narrated from Zuhair, from Al-'Alā' bin 'Abdur-Raḥmān, from his father, that Abū Hurairah said: "The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: 'One of the greatest of major sins is attacking a Muslim's honor without right, and another major sin is to insult twice in return for one insult.'" (Da'if)

4877 - حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُسَافِرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ، عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِنَّ مِنْ أَكْبَرِ الْكَبَائِرِ، اسْتِطَالَةَ الْمَرْءِ فِي عِرْضِ رَجُلٍ مُسْلِمٍ بِغَيْرِ حَقٍّ، وَمِنَ الكَبَائِرِ السَّبَّتَانِ بِالسَّبَّةِ»
