English translation

4913. It was narrated from 'Āishah that the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: "A Muslim should not abandon another Muslim for more than three (days). If he meets him, and greets him with Salām three times, and he does not return the greeting each time, he will bear the sin." (Hasan)

Arabic text

4913 - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّي، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ خَالِدِ ابْنِ عَثْمَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْمُنِيبِ يَعْنِي الْمَدَنِيَّ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: لَا يَكُونُ لِمُسْلِمٍ أَنْ يَهْجُرَ مُسْلِمًا فَوْقَ ثَلَاثَةٍ، فَإِذَا لَقِيَهُ سَلَّمَ عَلَيْهِ ثَلَاثَ مِرَارٍ كُلُّ ذَلِكَ لَا يَرُدُّ عَلَيْهِ فَقَدْ بَاءَ بِإِثْمِهِ "
