4927. Sallām bin Miskīn narrated from an old man who saw Abū Wā'il at a wedding, where they started to play, amuse themselves and sing. Abū Wā'il adjusted the way he was sitting and said: I heard 'Abdullāh say: I heard the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ say: 'Singing generates hypocrisy in the heart.' (Da'if)
4927 - حَدَّثَنَا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا سَلَّامُ بْنُ مِسْكِينٍ، عَنْ شَيْخٍ، شَهِدَ أَبَا وَائِلٍ فِي وَلِيمَةٍ، فَجَعَلُوا يَلْعَبُونَ يَتَلَعَّبُونَ، يُغَنُّونَ، فَحَلَّ أَبُو وَائِلٍ حَبْوَتَهُ، وَقَالَ: سَمِعْتْ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، يَقُولُ: «الْغِنَاءُ يُنْبِتُ النِّفَاقَ فِي الْقَلْبِ»
