English translation

5225. Umm Abān bint Al-Wāzī' bin Zārī' narrated that her grandfather, Zārī' - who was among the delegation of 'Abdul-Qais - said: "When we came to Al-Madīnah, we dismounted quickly, and rushed to kiss the hands and feet of the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ. But Al-Mundhir Al-Ashajj waited until he went to his luggage, and put on his two garments, then he came to the Prophet ﷺ, who said to him: 'You have two characteristics that Allāh loves: Deliberation and dignity.' He said: 'O Messenger of Allāh, did I acquire them, or did Allāh create them in me?' He said: 'No, Allāh created them in you.' He said: 'Praise be to Allāh Who has created in me two characteristics that Allāh and His Messenger love.'" (Da'if)
