English translation

616. It was reported from 'Āṭā' Al-Khurāsānī, from Al-Mughīrah bin Shu'bah that the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: "Let no Imām pray (voluntary prayers) in the place where he led (the obligatory prayer) until he changes (to another place)." (Sahīh) Abū Dāwūd said: ‘Aṭā’ Al-Khurāsānī did not meet Al-Mughīrah bin Shu‘bah.

616 - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو تَوْبَةَ الرَّبِيعُ بْنُ نَافِعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ الْقُرَشِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا عَطَاءٌ الْخُرَاسَانِيُّ، عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «لَا يُصَلِّ الْإِمَامُ فِي الْمَوْضِعِ الَّذِي صَلَّى فِيهِ حَتَّى يَتَحَوَّلَ»، قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ: عَطَاءٌ الْخُرَاسَانِيُّ لَمْ يُدْرِكِ الْمُغِيرَةَ بْنَ شُعْبَةَ
