English translation

717. In another version of this (no. 716) Hadīth, he said: "Two young girls from the tribe of Banū 'Abdul-Muṭṭalib were fighting with each other, so he took them and separated them apart — Uṭhman (one of the narrators) said: "he pulled one of them away from the other," — "and they (the people who were praying) did not mind that." (Hasan)

717 - حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، وَدَاوُدُ بْنُ مِخْرَاقٍ الْفِرْيَابِيُّ، قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ، عَنْ مَنْصُور، ٍبِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ بِإِسْنَادِهِ قَالَ: فَجَاءَتْ جَارِيَتَانِ مِنْ بَنِي عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ اقْتَتَلَتَا فَأَخَذَهُمَا قَالَ عُثْمَانُ: فَفَرَّعَ بَيْنَهُمَا، وَقَالَ دَاوُدُ: فَنَزَعَ إِحْدَاهُمَا عَنِ الْأُخْرَى فَمَا بَالَى ذَلِكَ
