    (قلت: إسناده ضعيف، كما قال الحافظ العراقي؛ لأن عبد الجبار لم يسمع من أبنه كما تقدم. وضعفه النووي أيضاً. والصحيح من حديث وائل: رفع اليدين إلى الأذنين؛ ليس فيه: الابهام والشحمة. انظر الكتاب الأخر (رقم ٧١٦))

English translation

737. (There is another chain) from Fīṭr, from ‘Abdul-Jabbār bin Wā’il, from his father who said: “I saw the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ raise his thumbs in the prayer to the his earlobes.” (Da’if)

Arabic text

737 - حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ دَاوُدَ، عَنْ فِطْرٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ بْنِ وَائِلٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ: رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ «يَرْفَعُ إِبْهَامَيْهِ فِي الصَّلَاةِ إِلَى شَحْمَةِ أُذُنَيْهِ»
