Text and translation

English translation

918. (There is another chain) from Abū Qatādah who narrated: "Once we were sitting in the Masjid, when the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ came out carrying Umāmah bint Abī Al-‘Āsh bin Rabī‘, and her mother was Zainab the daughter of the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ. She was at that time a baby, and he was carrying her on his shoulders. So the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ led (us) in prayer while she was on his shoulders; he would place her (on the ground) when he went into Rukū‘, and he would pick her up again when he stood up. He continued to do so until the prayer finished." (Sahih)
