94. Umm 'Umārah narrated that the Prophet ﷺ wanted to perform Wudū', so a container was brought to him which contained water equal to two-thirds of a Mudd. (Ṣāḥih) [1] Ṣā' is a measurement of volume. It is four scoops with the two hands held together. [2] A Mudd is roughly one-fourth the size of a Ṣā'.
94 - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ حَبِيبٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَبَّادَ بْنَ تَمِيمٍ، عَنْ جَدَّتِهِ وَهِيَ أُمُّ عُمَارَةَ، «أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَوَضَّأَ فَأُتِيَ بِإِنَاءٍ فِيهِ مَاءٌ قَدْرُ ثُلُثَيِ الْمُدِّ»
