English translation

974. Ibn ‘Abbās narrated: “The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ would teach us the Tashah-hud just like he would teach us the Qur’ān. He would say: ‘At-Taḥiyyātul-mubārakātūs-ṣalawātut-ṭayyibātu Lillāhi; as-salāmu ‘alaika ayyuhan-nabiyyu wa raḥmatullāhi wa barakātuhu; as-salāmu ‘alaina wa ‘alā ‘ibād-illāhiṣ-ṣāliḥīn. Ash-hadu anlā ilāha illallāh, wa ashhadu anna Muḥammadan Rasūlullāh’ (All compliments, blessings, prayers and good words are due to Allāh; peace be upon you, O Prophet, and the mercy of Allāh and His blessings; peace be upon us and upon the righteous slaves of Allāh. I bear witness that none has the right to be worshiped but Allāh and I bear witness that Muḥammad is His slave and Messenger)” (Sahīh)
